Nordhavn Yachts

Nordhavn Yachts is a brand of ocean-faring, full-displacement trawler yachts produced by Pacific Asian Enterprises (PAE). Founded in 1978 by Jim Leishman, Jeff Leishman, and Dan Streech, PAE initially focused on importing and selling Taiwanese-built sailing yachts and powerboats. The concept of Nordhavn emerged from a recognition of a market demand for recreational powerboats capable of extended offshore cruising. The first Nordhavn model, the Nordhavn 46, was launched in 1989. This vessel was designed to be robust and seaworthy, capable of undertaking transoceanic passages. The success of the N46 led to the development of a range of larger Nordhavn models, each designed with an emphasis on long-range capability, stability, and durability. Over the years, Nordhavn has expanded its model lineup, offering yachts from approximately 40 feet to over 100 feet in length. The brand maintains a focus on expedition-style motor yachts, catering to owners interested in extensive cruising and global exploration. Nordhavn yachts are known for their heavy displacement, full keels, and conservative design principles, which contribute to their reputed offshore performance.
