Mondomarine SpA

Mondomarine SpA was established in 1915, initially named Cantieri Navali Campanella. The shipyard was founded in Savona, Italy, by a maritime family with a history in shipbuilding. Over the decades, the shipyard evolved, eventually focusing on yacht construction. By the early 2000s, Mondomarine became known for its custom and semi-custom superyachts. The company faced financial difficulties in the mid-2010s, leading to a period of administration and subsequent acquisition. In 2018, Palumbo Superyachts, a division of Palumbo Group, acquired Mondomarine's shipyard facilities and brand name. Under Palumbo Superyachts, production capacity was integrated with the new ownership's existing operations. The shipyard's history is marked by a transition from traditional shipbuilding to the construction of luxury motor yachts, primarily in aluminum and steel. Its activities under previous ownership involved a range of custom projects, often featuring interiors by various international designers. The shipyard has historically focused on the bespoke nature of superyacht construction, prioritizing client-specific requirements. Throughout its existence, it has built a fleet of yachts, ranging from approximately 30 to over 60 meters in length. The shipbuilding process typically involved an integrated approach, managing design, construction, and outfitting within the shipyard or through collaborations. While the brand has undergone changes in ownership, its legacy is tied to the Savona industrial port area and the production of large motor yachts.
