About ICON Yachts

ICON Yachts B.V. was established in 2005. The shipyard is headquartered in Harlingen, Netherlands. It specializes in the construction of custom superyachts and offers refit, repair, and maintenance services. The yard is situated in a former commercial shipbuilding facility at the harbor of Harlingen, providing direct access to the North Sea. The site includes a 150-meter graving dock, a 120-meter dry dock, and a 50-meter covered shed.

ICON Yachts launched its first yacht, the 62-meter ICON 62, in 2010. This project was developed in collaboration with designers Redman Whiteley Dixon and naval architects Jouke van der Baan. Since then, the shipyard has completed a number of new-build superyachts and has also been active in significant refit projects, including the transformation of the former offshore patrol vessel 'Ocean Scout' into the explorer yacht 'Project Master'.

Over the years, ICON Yachts has focused on projects that often involve complex engineering and ambitious design requirements. The shipyard maintains an integrated approach to design, engineering, and construction, aiming to manage projects from concept to delivery. Their facilities are equipped to handle large yacht projects, emphasizing the ability to access open water directly from their location.

In 2021, the shipyard launched the 68-meter superyacht 'Ragnar', originally a supply vessel, which underwent a significant conversion to an explorer yacht. This project highlighted ICON Yachts' capabilities in extensive refit and conversion work, alongside their new construction portfolio.

ICON Yachts has worked with various design studios and naval architecture firms, adapting to specific project requirements. Their market positioning involves delivering large, custom-built, and refitted superyachts, often with a focus on exploration capabilities or unique design features. The company has navigated changing market conditions and ownership structures since its founding, continuing its operations in the superyacht sector.
