Bloemsma & van Breemen

Bloemsma & van Breemen was a Dutch shipyard specializing in the construction and refit of custom luxury sailing and motor yachts. The shipyard became known for its expertise in aluminum construction. It was established through the collaboration of two entities: Bloemsma Aluminiumbouw, an aluminum hull builder with experience dating back to 1974, and Claasen Jachtbouw, a yacht builder founded in 1985. Bloemsma Aluminiumbouw provided the hull construction, while Claasen Jachtbouw handled the subsequent outfitting and finishing of the yachts.

Bloemsma & van Breemen operated on a semi-custom basis, offering clients the opportunity to personalize aspects of their yachts within established design parameters. The yard's focus was often on larger sailing yachts, though they also constructed motor yachts. A notable project was the 47-meter sailing yacht "Thalima," designed by Hoek Design, which showcased the shipyard's capabilities in large-scale aluminum yacht construction.

Over its operational period, Bloemsma & van Breemen collaborated with various naval architects and designers to bring client visions to fruition. The shipyard eventually ceased new yacht construction under the Bloemsma & van Breemen name, with its legacy continuing through the individual histories of Bloemsma Aluminiumbouw and Claasen Jachtbouw.
